Just over an hours’ drive from London, deep in Jane Austen country, lies Farleigh Wallop, a quintessential English estate. Its beautiful grounds and contemporary interiors join a wealth of facilities including a heated outdoor pool, tennis court, boating lake, cinema and games room, perfect for a British summer holiday in all weather. A majestic Scottish castle with incredible coastal experiences
Renowned as a five-star Relais & Chateaux property with an award-winning chef, Glenapp Castle is available on an exclusive hire basis to discerning guests looking for complete privacy and discretion in their very own Scottish castle. Beneath the soaring turrets and ivy-clad battlements, lie 17 bedroom suites, each individually named, individually designed and lavishly decorated, with vast windows overlooking the nearby coastline and Mull of Kintyre.
The 110 acre grounds offer plenty of reasons to enjoy the Scottish summer, with beekeeping, foraging with the chef, stargazing and falconry all available to enjoy just moments from the front door, along with tennis courts, croquet lawn and its own arboretum.
The estate offers over 80 experiences, including the unique Hebridean Sea Safari. Guests board the Glenapp boat to explore the sea and bird life of the Hebridean islands, with a private chef and professional crew, who will navigate towards remote islands, coastal castles and distant inns. First stop is lunch at one of the many famous seafood restaurants, before arriving at an island or beach where the Glenapp island concierge team prepare a luxury glamping yurt in the wild. A well-deserved hot shower and a ‘dram’ starts the evening, before chef prepares a memorable dinner under the stars. For the first part of the adventure, guests can even take ‘Ripley’ the sea eagle with them, trained aboard the boat to catch fish in the local waters.

The first neo-classical Palladian mansion to be built in Scotland, Kinross House boasts views across Loch Leven to its own private island on which sits Loch Leven Castle, renowned for the imprisonment of Mary Queen of Scots and being captured by Sir William Wallace (Braveheart).
