InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort Children’s Activity Programme

InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has announced its magical 2023 Easter activity programme over four days this April, including Alice in Wonderland, themed events, a Manta Trust Charity Run and an Easter Egg Island Hunt. Welcoming comedy stars and DJs, Dick and Dom and World Sushi Champion, Pepi Anevski, families will delight in a Maldivian escape that has been expertly curated for families. From hunting for chocolate eggs on powder-soft sand to visiting The Chocolate Factory, which is returning for its third year, at the resort’s daytime oceanfront hub, The Collective, sweet tooths for those little and large are more than catered for. Lobster and crab nights, cinema under the stars and bunny cruises are also on offer for evening entertainment, so the fun does not need to end at nightfall.

For budding marine biologists and curious young minds, InterContinental Maldives’ ‘Planet Trekkers’ programme, for ages 4-12, showcases the wonders of the Indian Ocean through arts, crafts and mini-expeditions. Whilst children are exploring the Maldivian paradise, adults can retreat to the beach for ultimate relaxation. When families are wanting to explore together, they can spend time snorkelling the house reef and exploring the local sea life. There are various villas which are great for families of all sizes – located steps from the beach and Planet Trekkers kids club. Each Villa features a private plunge pool and a spacious garden, so when little ones return from a day’s adventure, families can reconnect by sharing stories and telling tales underneath the palm trees.

Dick and Dom ‘In Da Maldives’
A true highlight will be the performance of Dick & Dom taking place on 9th April. The renowned children’s entertainers will bring a touch of magic during the Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea parties and dinner events. The duo will create magical moments for the kids and their families before hitting the DJ decks at Cafe Umi Beach during cocktail hour as well. Due to their long reigning TV and entertainment career, the BAFTA award winners are known to young and old and will provide memorable experiences for all during their visit, with a few surprises along the way, perhaps a game of ‘bogies’ or two.

Roll up with World Sushi Champion, Chef Pep Anevski
Visiting Chef Pepi Anevski will headline the culinary events during the Easter celebrations, curating exciting sushi experiences and menus throughout the resort. The sushi aficionado rose to fame when named “World Sushi Champion” and “World’s Most Creative Sushi Master” and has more than 15 years of experience in Japanese cuisine. Anevski will deliver exceptional sushi at the resort and showcase Japanese cuisine to the guests of Maamunagau at InterContinental Maldives this Easter.

Easter Family Activities
InterContinental Maldives is delighted to be launching the first Manta Trust Charity Run on Easter Sunday, where guests are encouraged, not to just participate but to collect donations for their run for The Manta Trust. The Manta Trust is one of the world’s leading manta ray research organisations and part of the heart and soul of the InterContinental Maldives.

There is also a specially curated programme of family activities from the 7th to the 10th of April. For children, the Planet Trekker Easter programme is fun packed with activities for everyone. From classic Easter egg hunts to plenty of arts and crafts to the exciting and family favourite Pirate Cruise in the Maamunagau Lagoon. Adults will enjoy the cinema under the stars, the kite festival and evening culinary experiences with an aged steak night and a five-course Asian feast at lobster and crab night. When parents wish for a dose of peace and quiet, the adults-only ‘Retreat’ will call, which features a bar, infinity pool, and a mouthwatering restaurant for guests to enjoy an indulgent stay, child-free.

Not to miss for small and tall is a visit to the Chocolate Factory at The Collective, a Maamunagau Easter highlight since 2020. For this year, the culinary team has transformed The Collective into a Chocolate Wonderland of art and display for the annual Easter celebrations. Guests can marvel at the designs but also pick, choose and taste the wide range of organic chocolate collections, inspired by the magical adventures of Alice in Wonderland, Easter and the wonders of nature that can only be found in the Maldives.
